Where is your mojo at right now?

Mar 23, 2023

For me mojo happens on different levels.

Internal thoughts; are positive, focused, confident, happy.  This is reflected in my self-image.

In my body its physical presence, feeling strong and having energy for the things I want to do, even the unplanned activities.

Productivity is high and on the right things, language is positive, mindset is open and in growth mode.

On a scale of 1 (in the toilet) to 10 (I am on fire!), how would you rate your mojo right now?  (Take a minute to write it down).

What does mojo look like to you?

Mojo can be lots of things and look different in different areas of life.  At work it might be having boundaries, acting in line with your values and having time to be strategic.

Away from work it may be exercise, eating well, having time to spend in your garden or your happy place.  Its doing things where time just flows.

Why is mojo important?  It flows through to every area of our life.  Relationships outside and inside of work, how we respond to situations and people, our internal thoughts, self-doubt, confidence, our self-image, and our overall satisfaction.  Extended periods of low mojo can leave us feeling pretty flat and out of alignment.

Where would you like it to be?

Go back to how you rated your mojo on a scale of 1 to 10.

If I had a magic wand and told you in 6 months’ time you would be living out in the world with your desired level of mojo where would you like it to be on the scale?  Take a few minutes to visualise what that would look, feel and sound like?

What do you notice about your self?

The next step is to bridge the gap between how you feel now and how you want to feel and be.

Here are some tips to regain or increase your leadership mojo:

  • Are you playing to your strengths? Focus on developing areas where you are already winning, this will help to build confidence, motivation and increase energy.
  • Wellbeing; are there areas you can increase your self-care mentally, physically or emotionally. Feeling more energised and centered supports you to have a more positive impact,
  • Have goals you are invested in that aren’t overwhelming; keep it simple and make it achievable, get runs on the board,
  • Focus on relationships, get to know your team members on deeper level so that you can adapt your leadership style accordingly, or make quality time for personal relationships,
  • Communicate clearly your purpose, expectations and give feedback, set your team up for success,
  • Continuously learn and grow; seek out opportunities to develop your skill set and step out of your comfort zone,
  • Tap into your network, make the effort to make new connections, or connect with old ones, get in touch with a mentor or coach that can help you get over any road blocks.
